Only part of this album that's unpolished is frank's voice at certain points, which to me is almost like a statement, like voice quality really doesn't matter if the tune around it is beautiful enough. Sorta like Elliott Smith, I think that's actually why he included the elliott reference.
But there's some really beautiful stuff going on in the background of this album, it takes a takes a few listens to almost like find it.
