^It really isn't me being salty. There's a lot of ego on this site.

I love when butthurt people come up with that generalization because they can't accept others not liking their favorite band. [2]
happens a lot too, not just about periphery

@asdfp277 I would agree that it happens to a lot of bands/ artists on here, just never understood why people who adamantly hate bands go on their threads to let other people know how much they hate them. Like, do you expect Periphery to put out an album that you'll like after you've hated the last five? Doesn't make any sense unless you're using it as a means to promote your own ego.

i don't know if it's ego, maybe it is - i just find it fun, it's fun to complain about stuff lol
i fully expect periphery to make an album i could like tho, the issues they have in their music can be fixed and they do have potential, but are too nearsighted to notice

It is fun to complain, you're right, and that is part of the point of this site I suppose. I just seem to see more blind hatred for this band than I have on other threads. Just an observation really.

it's not blind hatred, it just sucks tbh
i mean, nobody has accused you of blind fanboyism, it seems unfair

"Periphery IV: From Fear Through the Eyes of Your Mom!" is still the funniest combination of words ever typed on this site

"This is pretty clever, is this the official name of the fan base?"
Not that I know of. I also recently realised that "Periphery" is a homophone of "Pure Riffery", which is probably the reason Misha named the band that.

"^It really isn't me being salty. There's a lot of ego on this site."
more like this site actually has people who are experienced enough to recognize this overrated commercial djent bollockery for what it really is
unlike the posers on facebook who think it's SUPER INTELLECTUAL MUSIC FOR BIG BOYS ONLY

I want to form or join a post-rock/ambient band at some point, like Bark Psychosis, but the thought of making any money playing that kind of music is laughable. Periphery are big in progressive metal circles and even got nominated for a Grammy, and their frontman is talking about how they make no money and more-or-less break even after a tour. It's too bad, but no one who downloads music for free has any right to complain about the state of musicians not making money, myself included. A lot of musicians even see streaming as a rip-off.
