He is Nate.
He has a lot of lyrics that tackle the subject in older songs.
Edit: Although most of his "love" songs keep gender out of it.

oh okay. You learn somethin new every day. It lends credence to my impression that Will Toledo and Courtney Barnett would be really great friends, or at least tourmates.

This is starting to click. My first couple listens I really just didn't get it at all.

Those gays, they're all friends. Yeah he had some album about dating his college teacher or some shit *inadvertently undersells Twin Fantasy, what is apparently his best album*. There's a cryptic confirmation here: http://carseatheadrest.tumblr.com/post/48742423104/do-you-have-a-girlfriend-are-you-gay-how-old-are
BTW AmericanFlagAsh, I'm trying super hard to get into this despite the length, after your encouraging words. But I start to wear about around Cosmic Hero. It's like a flight from Sydney to LA. You have a nap, watch some movies, listen to some music, and think "hey, this ain't too bad". Then you realise there are 5 more hours left and go insane. That's what happens when I see Cosmic Hero's 8 minute run time.
I could listen to Mannequin Pussy's amazing album 5 times for every Teens of Denial run.

Cosmic Hero is pretty far into it and probably near the point most albums end, I can see that. However, the next song "The Ballad of Costa Concordia" is one of the best on here. I recommend spending some time paying attention to that one, if nothing else.

Jesus, have you guys like really delved into the lyrics and where they came from? They are absolutely amazing.
The whole "intoxicado" part is about a story from the 80s in which a "intoxicado" got mistaken for "intoxicaded" by doctors and the guy was treated for drug overdose. Then, relating it to will, Vincent is all about him trying to describe his depression/dissatisfaction to other people and it being interpreted in different ways.

I need to read genius, I know there is some stuff I've missed. I've just been caught up in deciphering them myself and, whilst cheesy, my personal journey with them, and how they relate to my experiences on their face
