Yeah the synth era evolved the bass lines to an extent, and sometimes had them be more audible than before. Such amazing stuff.

haha
the bass on hold your fire is pretty incredible throughout.....very prominent.......it cant be fun for geddy while he is performing, he's literally doing 5 different things

more audible eh i dno, definitely more pop due to the basses he used, but i still prefer the rick
the wal is kinda amazing though

i guess thats why they went back to basics on presto, music def suffered tho, but roll the bones made up for it
|
| |
Album Rating: 5.0
Presto has a lot of value for me as does Hold Your Fire and Roll The Bones.....those were the current albums when i got in to the band.....agreed on your point though

The quality did drop a bit after HYF, even tho Presto and RtB are still excellent albums, but it was necessary to get their prog/hard rock roots back which really flourished in the 00's albums.
Show Don't Tell has the most blissful bridge ever speaking of that era.

ehhh, i'll take presto and roll the bones over the 4 albums that came after them.....pretty easily actually
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.0
we all know presto and roll the bones are shit on mostly due to the production
damn you rupert!
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.0
to be honest tho i'd take presto's tinny bollocks over clockworks wall of shit
|

Album Rating: 5.0
they sound incredible on a high end sound system......remixes would be sweet tho, and no not the same as the bullshit vapor trails remix
not happy with it
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.0
they are very dynamic albums but they lack bottom end big time
roll the bones is definitely a better sounding record tho
|

Album Rating: 4.0
yea i went back to the original vapor trails mix in the end, but i got the hdtracks version without all the crazy clipping from the CD
