"I don't understand why people view the lyrics so negatively on here. They're damn well written imo."

"True friends stab you in the front"

What the fuck is that even supposed to mean?

True friends betray you without being sneaky about it.

well, to be fair, just because you aim more towards the mainstream it doesn't always mean it's a complete sellout.

"These guys have changed pretty significantly with every album tho, say what you want about their quality but they've never stuck to one sound."

Point taken, though I feel this is more or less a dumbed down version Sempiternal.

I remember when I first started listening to music, in about 1994, I would lay in bed, put the compact disc in my stereo, put a nice glass of chocolate milk next to the bed, close my eyes and soak in every nuance. Expression is beautiful when there are vacant signs of innocence. And I am incredible elated how well this record has been soaked in.

This is a more pop-orientated Sempiternal, that's basically it. It's stream-lined. Their fan-base started to expand with Sempiternal, Drown continued that. Of course they were going to go in that direction still, they saw Drown was popular, they done what they wanted to. Case closed.

Brand new to this site - I only found it because I was searching for a review of That's the Spirit cause I just got a copy, and this one of the first sites that come up on Google. Really digging this new album. Can't deny that their sound has changed, but contrary to other reviews, I don't think this is a more simplistic, simple minded, pop, mainstream or whatever album. It may sound that way, but I think it is absolutely brilliant. There Is a Heaven will always be my favorite, but this album is incredible, in my opinion.

There was a time back in 201- when I was so down on music and couldn't find anything great to listen to. My friend introduced me to BMTH, and I thank my friend, Mortaky every day. He's no longer with us, but Mortaky was the man who knew the music.
