Uroboros Remastered & Expanded (serious, do this one and not the original) is generally the best place to start with these guys.

That and Withering to Death for older material (it's not close to their best albums, but it's a mix between J-rock and a more western sound, so that makes it good for newcomers).

Actually, yeah, this one ties in the more extreme and avant-garde elements found on Uroboros and DSS with the more streamlined songwriting of mid-era material, then adding some nice atmosphere.
