Cracker is only "part time filth", it's only filthy some(a very small minority) of the time, like when you ask someone what he is eating and he goes "a box of crackers".

Also the slur was created by white people

if one racial slur is terrible. all racial slurs are terrible. If you're against words that convey negative stereotypes you gotta be against all of them.

And yes I get that the comparison between "nigger" and "cracker" is a bit ridiculous, but in principle he's not wrong.

What the hell is lambs on about over kanye and kendrick making offensive music to white people?

I'm pretty sure I've only seen lambs being offended, I couldn't care less.

Also the concept of White Privilege isn't intrinsically linked to just what our ancestors did. Nor is it even all that far back in history, we still had Jim Crow laws until the 60s for fucks sake.

Being treated as a second class citizen has an inherent economic impact that doesn't instantly rectify itself. It's like letting POCs participate in a race in which they are already a lap down, hardly a level playing field.

That isn't even beginning to factor in generalized white apathy toward minority concerns currently, especially when it comes to the police.

tbh your totally misrepresenting what he said. I don't think he's butthurt about that stuff, I just think he says it's a double standard when negative-stereotypes against white people are fine and against minorities they are not.

Color Blindness comes from a good place, but often fails to acknowledge the lived in struggles of minorities.

...and I'm not misrepresenting Lambs at all, he constantly trolls the Kendrick threads to complain about racism and harps on reverse-racism to death.

I'm not saying other races can't be racist, but it's a point often brought up to move goal posts on any thought that challenges the white establishment. It's fucking bogus.

I'm not denying that it get's abused to do that, it certainly does.

But I also think the whole thing has gotten out of control over the last 2 years, both with racism and sexism. Everything just descends into a shouting contest where the "privileged white cis male" is the ultimate bad guy, with no regard for nuance what so ever.

Maybe one day when the smoke clears, it won't be as

Mothafucking difficult, ch-yeah, 'til then, hopefully ya

Little homos get over your fears and phobias

It's okay to be scared straight, they said I provoke queers

'Til emotions evoke tears, my whole career's

A stroke of sheer genius, smoke and mirrors, tactical, practical jokes, yeah

You mothafuckin' (insert insult here)

Guess I'm a SJW now. At least I can acknowledge the concept of white privilege, I can't see how any person who takes a critical look at our society can say that's it a fair ground. Neighborhoods are still mostly segregated based on race, blacks are disproportionately jailed and killed by the police, there is less mobility for minorities, Whites are more often than not CEOs, politicians, police etc and have a tighter grasp on authority.

That is the concept of white privilege, failure to acknowledge that institutional racism exists is mind-boggling to me.

And what are you on about other nations struggling from racial problems? I never said otherwise, but I can only speak on what happens here in the states. Just because other countries struggle with racial problems means we shouldn't try to better what happens here, what kind of defeatist bullshit is that?

Also if you read my post, I never said minorities couldn't be racist.

"I'm not saying other races can't be racist, but it's a point often brought up to move goal posts on any thought that challenges the white establishment. It's fucking bogus."

It's not a point I usually go out of my way to make, but a lot of sociologists will say the minorities can't be racist because they associate racism in the confines of societal power. That while minorities can be racist and exclude say white people from their social circle, it normally is much more harmful for a white person to do the same since they are often in a position of authority.

I don't agree with that definition of racism, but that's the argument more or less you'll see.

We can continue to harp on whether calling a white woman a devil is racially charged in the context of an album that criticizes the whiteness entrenched in our society, but I think that'd be missing the point, when you seem to take the even acknowledgement that us white dudes benefit from privileges not extended to minorities as a personal attack.

The fact that you so adamantly and so quickly make the assumption that I'm a SJW for acknowledging that seems to illustrate that you don't want to engage in an actual discussion and disregard any thoughts that are contrary to your own.

Anyway, back to Em I guess. His new freestyle is pretty dope but its still in that same stilted delivery style that I simply can't get behind, I know some people are getting offended over his lyrics, but he's been saying "Shock" shit for years, so I'm not sure why anyone is surprised anymore.

You are ignoring the various advantages blaxk people have over white people.

Even if white privege exists, it doesn't follow that institutional racism exists.

Funny how when I point out an example of blatant racism its "harping and getting personally offended" but when you point out alleged racism you act as if you are a political science professor doing so objectively.

You're backtracking and putting words in my mouth. The argument was about your hypocrisy of being outraged over the word "fag" in a rap song, even when it wasnt intended to be applied to gay people, but being so tolerant of "white devil", which was intended to insult white people, you actually feel the need to defend kendrick for using it and attack me for having the nerve to mention it. The reality of black america and/or white privilege has nothing to do with anything relevant. If every black person on earth was dirt poor, And every white person filthy rich, it still wouldn't be justifiable to hate white people or insult them based on their race. It's alarming to hear someone who is apparently so concerned with racism trying to justify anti-white racism, you are essentially saying it's only ok to be racist to white people.

I'm starting to think you don't know what we were talking about and are just attacking me the instant you saw me saying anything anout anti white racism. I admit calling you a SJW didn't help anything. We probably agree on a lot more than you think.

What freestyle are you talking about)

Lambs I think you are confusing me with someone else. I was never outraged about Em's use of fag, I personally don't use the word anymore, but I'm aware of its connotation in rap and specifically that most of Em's music comes from a character.

I guess I'm reading into this in that you are using a frame of argument I often seen brought up when discussing race, people point to individual instances of racism as some sort of counter to the existence of institutional racism. I see this all the time when a black man is unjustly killed, and people point to what another black man did as if it relates to the situation or when people refer to rates of crime amongst minority communities yet fail to acknowledge that crime rate is tied more to poverty than race. It's a mindset that seems to justify cultural norms and general apathy to honest discussions on race.

I've never once said blacks cannot be racist, yet you continue to bring up that point as if I did.I really don't see how the existence of white privilege is alleged, I'd probably need to open up the vaults and do some reading again to get scholarly articles on it, in terms of employment rates/pay discrepancies/white flight, etc.

What privileges do you believe blacks have over whites? I'm guessing you are referring to affirmative action and the like, but even if we take that into account I still think its fair to say we are immeasurably more privileged in the states. Disregarding anything economical for the sake of this argument, but there is a layer of mistrust/prejudice between the white and black communities as a result of our history, that people seem uncomfortable with acknowledging.

I'm defending Kendrick's use specifically because I think it context of TPAB it works, in that the white devil specifically is offering temptation to culturally assimilate with white america. You can even tie that into your argument in a way, since Kendrick would lose credibility within his own community for engaging in an interracial relationship (Something that is still ever present)

I was referring to the Em's freestyle on SWAY in the morning, His rhyme scheme is still good, but I've kind of grown out of the thought that rhyme scheme is above all. Though I'm being a bit harsh since a free style is a free style.

you said 'what the hell is lambs on about..' then started talking about white privilege, as if it had something to do with what I was talking about.

All I said was thinking "fag" is horrendous no matter what, but "white devil" is probably fine and cool, is hypocritical.

I don't doubt white privilege exists in general to some extent. I just think you are being sensational. You seem to be saying 'white privilege exists, so lets give anti-white racists a pass. haha white devil good one kendrick! whats the problem lambs?'.

that freestyle is fire
