says the guy who laughed at my post and said i was using 'inappropriate' words to describe her music. idgaf what the lyrical content suggests, i'm obviously referring to her as a vocalist.

I laughed because I thought it was funny, and I used the word "inappropriate" because that was what I meant - I don't feel like those words describe anything about her music.

actually this is dumb, so I'm gonna turn the discussion back to the music
I think that people seeing her music as "cute" is a huge misconception because it is devastating and sad. Her songs are about being at odds with the world, being frustrated and lazy, unable or unwilling to change personal flaws, her insignificane in the grand scheme of things, and eventually realizing that that isn't the end of the world. I feel like people throw the word "cute" around way too often with female indie rock/folk/pop/whatever artists, that's why I laughed.

idk I just feel like that is a very shallow way to view her music, and that only ever happens to female artists. I don't think she sounds adorable at all, except on one or two songs.
