Kendrick is pretty good but not anything that can make up for an entire three years of soulless rap music.

i feel like you have heard so little rap from the last three years that you have no ground at all to stand on

No I specifically just said that the lyrics and chorus in swimming pools contradict the purpose of each other ( IE one encourages drinking, the other - meakly and lamely - stands against it.

Again the message was "yeah I drank to be popular and got a swming pool full of bitches, but don't do that!

If you don't think I have heard that album you clearly dunno who I , I wrote two reviews for that.

Yeah I haven't heard much new rap, but that is for the reason I pointing out.

Who else is noteworthy besides Earl and Kendrick? ( they ARE good but are nothing compared to old school's messages)

dude it's dialogue

the line directly preceding the hook is "somebody said to me"

It doesn't matter if someone else said it, if he actually wanted to do something about alcoholism he wouldn't have put a hook on there he knew would be played in bars and encourage alcoholism that's repeated more times than there are verses

exactly, there's no point even giving this guy recs of modern hip hop if he can't grasp Swimming Pools

imagine him trying to decipher Illogic, El-P or Aesop

Kendricks cool but i dont think you can name another new(last3 years) counscious rapper. There aren't any in mainstream

I clearly understand swimming pools, better than yall even do, in fact. You are really naive if you think that wasn't designed to be a club song and are clinging to silly ad hominem arguments because you have no answer to my simple question.

but dude pretty much all of those artists released music this year.. It's pretty ignorant to make stupid claims like "My point was today there are hardly any new conscious rappers, who are more about message than delivery." whereas you obviously haven't searched and have zero knowledge of modern hip hop
