>I'm really just glad that Seth Putnam did guest vocals on this. He made a career out of being the most offensive person possible. He was trolling metal before the internet and then he had a platinum album under his belt. RIP legend
Never heard of him

"check exhorder and demolition hammer agreed"
Those bands rule too, but Pantera isn't trying to be a thrash band so I don't get the endless comparisons like they're literally the same thing all of the time.
"One of the most inconsistent albums ever."
Huh? What songs? The last 5 songs on this album are all 10/10 bangers, first few tracks on this album are also some of the best in their catalogue
Edit: Also Exhorder and Demolition Hammer only have like a couple of albums each, this band has a whole career of kicking ass and helping define the genre of that decade so, I dunno, not at all on the same level in the slightest imo

Just the vocal style is all I can really see (even though Phil sounds much more monstrous imo) but Pantera has a much more steak chomping, southern ass-kicking vibe and exhorder doesn't really give me those vibes. Also, as mentioned before, they feel much more like a thrash band to me and Pantera is more groove or whatever the fuck.
I can see the vocals, but other than that, uh not really.
Edit: Also, taking Pantera's albums all into consideration, Pantera is better anyway

Exhorder aren’t indignant about it so why do metal nerds get their pasty man tits in such a twist over it?
Kyle even admitted that Pantera deserved their fame because they toured hard whilst exhorder wasted a lot of their talent by not being as dedicated as they could have been.
But besides the vocals they’re barely similar and Phil was the only one who listened to any metal besides mainstream stuff like priest and sabbath anyway

the album is really clunky. lots of cool riff and song ideas that dont really go anywhere. they've said they were all fucked up beyond belief while writing/recording and phil wasn't even in the same state as the rest of the band, and it really shows. the only two songs that feel finished on here are "drag the waters" and "war nerve". even "floods", as great as it is, sounds pretty jumbled and could use another draft write.

Too bad nobody gives a shit about Exhorder. Unless you're some mouth-breathing hipster with an axe to grind, and you'll grind that axe for a long time.

Exhorder? More like ExBOREder, because their riffs are hot garbage and they're not even a footnote compared to Pantera's legacy.

I mean I dig Exhorder but Pantera is like fucking lightyears ahead of them in terms of asskicking quality imo so I don't know why I keep hearing here "lol just jam Exhorder bro"
