That was interesting. The guitars sounded really nice but didnt strike me to be as groundbreaking as their work on Kezia. That kind of sweeping is making its way into a generic type of riffing, Ive heard enough of that off of Colors. The part they were getting in to when the clip faded out sounded awesome though.

How can you even compare it to Colors when they wrote this before Colors, and Colors is average? The sweeping is if anything reminiscent of Turn Soonest. And wait, a 40 second clip off a 5 minute song isn't groundbreaking?
HOLY SHIT YOU ARE BLOWING MY MIND.

I was just stating that that specific 40 second clip reminded me of work that could have been done by plenty of other bands. I didnt even say Colors was good! Or that PTH were stealing ideas. Kezia sounds like pretty much nothing else Ive heard, and that kind of did. Im not judging the album, or even the song. Just what I heard.

This sounds pretty much nothing like Kezia though. Bloodmeat is the only track that would fit at all, and it is a major stretch.

you cant judge it based on a clip without context, trust me.

I'm more defensive against poor choice of words and a lack of context than i am the actual band and music.

Actually, upon hearing the first minute of No Stars Over Bethlehem I was convinced I hadnt heard anything quite like that before. Relax, Im not attempting to be offensive. Part of what I was implying was this is a shift away from the Kezia sound. Ill make a call on whether I like it better or not when I actually listen to the album.

Colors is average
Explain how it is average without saying the usual, i.e.- "The songwriting is average, and the songs are obviously just strung together by random riffs."
Keep in mind that BTBAM has clearly stated that each song builds off the last, and in a way it is a musical concept album, in that there are several (musical) themes running through each song that all climax in White Walls.
There. Explain.
