Thanks for the advice Wolf but I wasn't speaking for myself personally. Rather, I meant that I know a lot of 18 y/o's for obvious reasons and just as a whole they're not particularly mature or knowledgeable, hence my comment. There are a lot of man-children/ woman-children in America anyways
I always try to conduct myself as an adult, maybe not to terribly high success but I'm still learning. But at least I'm not posting about my undying love for Taylor Swift and how I idolize her perfection lol

"Same thing in Belgium wolf
I like T Swift but I'm not gonna flaunt it or anything"
Of course, Belgium has proper education. ;D But seriously, I'm pretty sure I read Belgium is pretty chill in terms of criminality (except for some stealing from time to time) education and stuff like that.
@toxin: Oh, I didn't imply it was about you. It just seems the 'legal adult' age also has an influence on the thinking and social norms, as it's higher in the U.S. it makes sense people consider 18 year olds to be 'kids'. Granted, of course we also have our fair shair of pubescent adolescents but it groes gradually down with higher education (standards). Or they at least possess the ability to act mature and do so within certain restrictions or limit their childish acting and know when to draw a line.
Of course.. or rather nfortunately there can be big regional differences.

Stop being an idiot. Nice edit, I saw what you wrote first though and WELL FUCKING DUH, of course we also have douchy labels. Especially in a genre filled with elitism.
|
| |
Of course it is, but that doesn't make every German label a bunch of conservative dickheads. Just take a gander at Prophecy, not only their output is good but they're actually a good label. I mean despite me not liking any pagan/viking whatever stuff anymore TrollZorn is also a pretty good label. Most 'smaller' labels are actually pretty liberal.

My best friends I met in Europe were Germans. Simply the nicest culture of people in the EU. Crashed on many a couch
Manu a times- hassle free and they fed/watered/beered me. Germans are my favourite people
|
| |
Talking about it, Germany has actually become INCREDIBLY liberal for the most part over the last half century.
"hassle free and they fed/watered/beered me"
Haha, that sounds familiar. Where were you at?
Well, nobody really cares for Burzum anymore over here tbh. His good days are over and while still amusing he kind of resembles the Kanye West of Black Metal.

@Wolf, got it. Unfortunately it's not really the case in America. It's almost like college gives people an excuse to be "wild and young and free" which I'm sure is the lyrics of some billboard top 100 hit in the last year. That entails being dumb.
Speaking of Germany, Oberstaufen has like the nicest scenery ever. I wish I had been older than 12 when we visited so I could have appreciated it more

'I'm pretty sure I read Belgium is pretty chill in terms of criminality (except for some stealing from

Well we still have serious problems with integration, 21% of the people that live here and were born
in another country are poor (bad educaction, no or bad jobs etc...). Criminality numbers are through
the roof, especially in Brussels where almost half the youth is unemployed and the education is really
suffering there and the federal government is cutting education funds further so bleh... Dunno how it
is in other European countries tho so yea

Yeah, I know what you're talking about. There are definitely some people that aren't being immature shitheads but it seem like they're a minority. Especially (early) in college.
Yeah, we have some pretty sweet places here. For me mainly the Eastern borders, and South(western) Germany. I live like half an hour from the biggest woodlands here.
That sounds worse than I actually thought. I always had this civilized picture of Belgium.

I'm not anymore, but I was well into the local/natioanl metal scene for 4-5 years. Until the whole 'scene' and 'scene police/elitism' shit got too obnoxious for me.

people at pubs, cafes etc so chill

I'll probably get laughed at for saying this but the german bm scene is pretty sweet
Empyrium, Nagelfar, Graveworm, Secrets of the Moon, Finsterforst, Falkenbach, Endstille, Nargaroth, ... fuck yeah

'you're an idiot and I've already responded to your last bullshit statement you copied.'
Ironically, calling other people 'idiot' really undermines your whole argument because throwing cheap insults around is a very typical characteristic of people who, because of their lack of intelligence or otherwise, are unable to get their opinion across in a more civilized manner. But don't worry, I'm sure that one day people will be able to use you as a poster child for everything that's wrong with the american education system and that way your pathetic existence on this planet will have had some kind of purpose! :]
good day to you, sir or shall I say... kiddo
