Which is ironic considering the nature of Red's lyrics ;)

wretches and kings is such a laughably bad song...it sounds like an even worse version of 311's creatures, with an egyptian fecal feel to match...

This album is pretty good. It doesn't matter to me that they produced a different sound from the first two albums. They still make some good music.

James Montgomery of MTV praised the album for being "sprawling, discordant, ambitious and an all-out game changer" while comparing it with English alternative rock band Radiohead's 2000 album Kid A, but pointed out that A Thousand Suns is more optimistic.

Surprise.

He compared A Thousand Suns to Kid A... Wow I'm too shocked to laugh.

I think he was saying the way Kid A was a huge drastic change for radiohead. ATS was a very similar change for Linkin Park.

Doesn't really take much to explain which one is the actual "classic"

This is actually good. I was sad-ish when I started listening to it. The Requiem and The Radiance suited my mood. Burning in the skies and Iridescent suited it even more.

The standout, and the most different track (and my favourite) on this album is-

BLACKOUT!

Wow this album brings out the widest range of opinions ever apparently. Don't think I would like this
but this review sparked my interest a bit

Good, solid album I'd say. Definitely better than m2m and even meteora IMO. I think Hybrid Theory may still be better. Favourite tracks are: "Waiting for the End", "The Catalyst" and "The Blackout." The rest are enjoyable listens.
