100% a lot of this type of stuff is weird abstract whiteboi rap but there's somethin about this album. don't listen to it much but this holds up really well even a decade later

Honestly neither of these albums have held up as well as I'd have liked them to...
I've relistened to them here and there over the last couple years and just find so many of the lyrics to be so cringe

I love both albums still but yea I can agree the lyrics can be a bit ehhhh at times

It really never bothered me back when these came out but I was also a lot less well versed in hip hop at that point and had the stomach for other stuff that makes me cringe in retrospect now as well (atmosphere, cage, all the anticon shit etc).
The notion that hip-hop has to be hard af is pretty silly and I think we've moved past that as we've moved on from other hip-hop tropes like prevalent homophobic and misogynistic language but at the end of the day there really is just a certain physical impact that is essential to hip hop that and sorely missed with the momma's boy concious rap.
