Bass has never had a big presence. Usually only when the guitar isn't playing, such as the second verse in My Own Summer.

After I get this album, I'll only need Saturday Night Wrist and I'll have every CD.

yeah i guess, but meshuggah crossed with deftones' sense of dynamics and melody and unboringness is pretty rad.

Is that not what makes Deftones what it is? Not necessarily Meshuggah, but metal in general, mixed with dynamics, melody, and atmosphere.

The problem with this for me, after 2 listens, is that none of the songs really stand out (except for maybe diamond eyes and royal and they're the first two). None of its bad, It just seems like most of the songs aren't that interesting. Hopefully, this is only because I'm tired and I'm about to go to sleep but as of right now its not even close to white pony, still good though.

I bought this yesterday and I must say it's pretty boring and disappointing, and no it's not better then white pony.

The first Deftones song i heard was Back to School, i hated it and it really put me off listening to these guys for AGES.

Thank god, i picked this up. This is amazing.

I'll have to check out their older stuff now, gonna check out the self-titled first then White Pony.

This seems to be more of a grower than their other albums for me, liking it more each time. I kinda wish they put at least one heavier song near the end though but whatever. Not sure I like this quite as much as Deftones and White Pony right now but it could get there with a few more listens.
