I honestly dont care, its a whole different band, they shouldnt be releasing it under the Funebrarum name.

as long as it sounds like funebrarum, who gives a shit (also the guys brought on board all have substantial pedigrees aside from the bassist)

also daryl's vocals are one of the biggest draws to this band, he's a substantial part of the reason this record is so memorable

exhumation was great if you actually cared to enhance the audio (idk what kind of production job that thing had, but it was really quiet), stuff sounded straight off of beneath the columns

i do agree that i would like to see the versatility that daryl displaced on this for the new record though, that rabid bear growl is just nuts

Daryl is one of the few vocalists who actually sounds as if he's choking on blood

So any band that plays in this style youre just going to automatically love? I care because its no longer the same songwriter.

And yes, the vox are awesome, but im really here for the riffs. I thought Exhumations was lacking pretty severely in that department. Its really obvious a different band made that one.

^ agreed. and really disappointed in hearing that because I didn't know that. If the lineup is all different than from when they put out Sleep of Morbid Dreams then it's simply a different band's work. That sucks but doesn't mean it wont be good

some new school records have the vocals, some have the riffs, some have the drumming, some have the production, this has it all

charnel passages is definitely one of the better straight osdm records in recent years (their EPs are also worth their salt), has a heavy finnish influence like these guys

Im looking forward to what Cruciamentum do next, i liked Paradise Envenomed better than anything else theyve done.

Paradise Envenomed is cool, for some reason I didn't like it much as their other stuff at first but that changed pretty quick.

Hard to say what my favorite is though, everything they've done is sick. I think I listen to Convocation and Engulfed the most though.
