In Phobia they we're more careless, using some profanity, and had some really heavy riffs you don't normally come around in post-grunge.
In Dear Agony they are really playing it safe and achieve mostly boredom. It does have some strong points, but overall doesn't compare to phobia - the best thing to come out in that genre in a while that easily kills seether, three days grace, daughtry, nickelback, theory of a deadman and so on...and their previous two albums for that matter.

Ben used to do some really fun stuff with his voice like singing like a crazed irish man...not anymore tho.

I agree that this isn't up to 'Phobia' BRCD, but I think you over-exaggerate that album's quality.. Then again, within genre, it probably is right up there.

I honestly don't see how people that like Phobia are bad-mouthing this. It might not be as good but it's hardly a departure from the Phobia sound.

Fair point ttb, but the fact that it isn't so much a departure is part of the problem, I guess.

No that's not the problem. The problem is most of the album is boring and really doesn't catch your attention, like Phobia did. Even the weaker tracks like dance with the devil, I found more enjoyable than most of Dear Agony.

But if it was a departure, it would have caught your attention LG.

Maybe you should contact BB, and inform them of this startling discovery.

if bb puts out another album that sounds like phobia/agony i will lose a significant amount of appreciation for them

they need to experiment with their sound sometime...
