I have 0 idea how Gaga managed to cook so hard on Mayhem. Genuinely her best album in years, and Chromatica was already pretty damn good

I think Mayhem is her best album outright. Sometimes it seems like a bold proclamation when an artist has had a long and successful career, but hers has been built more around hits. Her first few albums aren't nearly as consistent as the new one, and I'd argue that Disease, Abracadabra, Perfect Celebrity, and Vanish Into You go as hard as Just Dance, Poker Face, Bad Romance, etc. Honestly, the highs on Mayhem are actually higher than whatever mega hits launched her to fame in the first place.
