Yo I just won 10 grand in the Galactic Rhyme Federation championship, so I'm laughin' a bit
I feel like returnin' to Earth and burnin' some herb
I'm sick of lookin' at the inside of space stations
Time for Deltron to take a vacation

“I wonder why this was so overlooked at the time?? It’s quality.”
I think Del’a goofball persona put off a lot of people who were into gangster/bling era rappers. I remember discovering him through the Tony hawk soundtracks back in the day and really vibing it, but I remember a lot of other people sort of wrote him (and by extension, this) off as backpack rap lyrical miracle stuff.

Ha backpack rap.
Love it. I can’t quite define it but I know exactly what you mean by it. Traipsing through a genre without having the roots.
There was a shed load of it in the early 2000s.

Considering how massive Clint Eastwood was when Gorillaz released it, its a surprise that Del didn’t get a ton of mass appeal off the back of it
