I forget who but someone in the band did say that they thought it was too polished. Maybe it was John lol

John needs to realise that they were much better at playing pop music than they were anything else.

"It was made during a really unfortunate time. We just weren't at a good place to make an album but TER wanted it now. Then it was so overproduced. It sounds like shit. Like a Bon Jovi record or something. Awful. I listened to the push mixes recently while digging through a box of old recordings and they actually sound better. Raw! Whatever, lesson learned..."

"There are some good riffs on it, sure. I just wish we would've waited another year and worked it out a bit more. "Not Unlike The Waves" was mostly written in the studio, for fuck's sake!"

well, for a song "mostly written in the studio", it's pretty incredible lol

I'm saying that it's a good thing, I think this is easily their best album. Read my first post on this page, ya dingus.

I don't understand how it's anywhere near a pop record and why that is bad for him but whatever. And Bon Jovi lol like what?

Overproduced? Haha, the production is immaculate. I wonder if he digs Marrow's production, cuz that was pretty bad (tho I dig it)

Yea they purposely made Marrow raw like that so I'm sure he loves it.
