Baby Britain ownz. Got all the troops lined up in a roll oh they are just bottles. Elliot Smith has an official video of that iirc. I still heh other than Figure 8 which.... I heard very little of. I think most of his albums fall in the higher end. Even Basement on a Hill that had no cohesion. I uhh really liked some of those songs and still have a shirt of it from interpunk.

Wish I didn’t dislike Amity cuz this would possibly be a 5 then

Amity starts really annoying.
My favorite is probably the S/T overall. Either/Or is really good too and this. Huh I never thought too hardly what was the 5.0 Elliott Smith album because there are 5.0's songs all over them.

"wild take fucking wild"
Isn't "the first 3 Elliott Smith albums are by far his best" an extremely common take?

I usually see his debut with the lowest or 2nd lowest score between the 6 hmmm

The three ES 5 ratings are S/T, either/or and X/O
No contest really
I wouldn’t swap Pitseleh alone for the entire debut

I actually have Figure 8 as my favourite

Figure 8 I especially appreciate the opening run of five songs but I have to admit after that there must be three or four I think are really B-Side quality for Elliott

I still have to jam Figure 8 and From a Basement on the Hill.

Hawks, Basement is real interesting, very dark sound on that one at times, also his noisiest guitar work

I'm gonna jam them both soon. The debut is mid to me tbh, but I love the three that follow.

Basement on a Hill is weirdly underrated in a lot of ways. Even as a (somewhat) unfinished album, I actually prefer it to this by a tiny bit. And Figure 8 is my favorite of his, so.

Fig 8
Either/Or

Roman Candle
Basement
XO
I overall probably do prefer his earlier stuff with the exception on Fig 8 for whatever reason. I’ve felt that way for years.
New Moon is definitely worth the time too by the time you’re jonesin for more of his music.
