Yeah, South Side could have benefitted from a little more variety in those parts, but it's still a damn good song. Absolutely love the piano break in the bridge

I feel like Haken tried to write this album, when they made The Mountain.
This one is better though, in probably every way

The opener and closer are great! Just a shame I don't care much for everything in between. Need to give it more listens I think.

After more listens, this is definitely growing on me! Close To The Edge is leaps and bounds better in my opinion, but this still has some fantastic songs!

discog walk; complete revisit session, on the remastered 2013 japan ed, perfect sound. This is the place they found their identity, imo. Rick Wakeman virtuoso is a precious new member to this legendary band. Roundabout/South Side Of The Sky/Long Distance Runaround/Heart Of The Sunrise, are 4 masterpieces in one album. 1971 music visionary and one of the prog rock leaders of the time. Rate bump +0.5=5.0 Classic. Not aged at all, traverse time without a scratch. Real characteristic of a classic.

Putting fillers in the middle of a side of a record annoys the shit out of me. It's a serious repulsive thing for me, makes me avoid this album when I sit down to listen to records. Undoubtedly there are fucking great songs on it too, if you have the CD version winamp can help to make things right. If im in the mood of progressive epics I prefer Wishbone Ash, that band never makes me stand up from my cozy armchair until the end of the record.
