yeah it all just bled together. maybe the rating will change with more listens. I have just heard so many good things about this band, and seeing the high ratings, i was just expecting way more. Out of any of the classic metal bands, the first Dio album was f***ing nuts in a good way

if you haven't listened to much thrash this is definitely a bad starting place haha. very raw and speedy. at least try rust in peace!

i have heard their first three albums. so Rust in Peace is up next. after only listening to the first 3 albums in order 1 time, there are only 5 stand out songs in total which is unfortunate

ah gotcha. but yeah i do get it. i think dave really ups his game vocally on rust in peace. much more range and in control, goes into a way higher pitch. that is the transition point for me. i love peace sells but even for me vocals are a little spotty and i love dave.

Peace Sells will always be my number 1 because it was a gateway album for me, objectively Rust is their best and most accessible album. After that it gets real inconsistent, if you like them you’re a fan, if not I’m not gonna blister you for it.
As far as full albums with no skips Maiden definitely has a higher batting average
