I like how you can legitimately/competently mono-Steel the whole of Black(2) (without trades etc.) - so I did. The type is so strong that it isn't even that difficult.

Ground pokes are generally good for mono runs. Rockslide/Earthquake and bai bai bitches.

I want to mono-Ground run Platinum one day, lots of good Pokes like Gliscor and Garchomp on that one, plus you can use the Grass starter. They do have a few weaknesses, but I believe they can all be covered on that game.

Am halfway through a Platinum Nuzlocke and really need to get hold of a good ground user :[

Ice is going to be your only problem. Garchomp is op af so you won't have much problem sweeping through everything.

The only thing I don't like about nuzlockes is how you can't evolve certain pokes.

This is true but tbh half the Pokes in question are gonna die anyway (Alakazam is a glass canon and Gengar has too many weaknesses)

If I remember rightly some common water types naturally learn ice moves, Gyarados and Floatzel have Ice Fang? They might actually be more problematic than some ice Pokes.

Any 'challenge' is easy if you over-level though.
