Tbh it's the one thing about this album that I am not over the moon about. It's not that they're not good, it's just for this type of music I don't really like the whole super high pitch ear piercing thing over thrashing riffs.

I didn't really like the vocals at first but I love them now. Something about them is just so good, although sometimes I burst out laughing when a song just randomly starts with his 'YIIIIIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAA' shrieking

Friend of mine criticised them for being too light live when we seen them on the terminal tour
Also it was Erik who was here from time

I can see that, from the perspective that they both seem very single-minded & their respective bands were very much their own, with a revolving door of band members due to tensions their methods would seemingly create. In addition to their creative genius as progressive metal pioneers & superb musicians.
Apologies if that's not what you meant, couldn't see stylistic or 'legacy' related comparisons being fair or realistic (the latter quite obviously).

Yeah his vox on TSOP are vaguely similar but they don't quite go full-on banshee like on here, haha.

I dunno, I loved Chuck on Symbolic and TSOP but this just pushes it a little too far over the edge for me in terms of vocals.
That live video was sweet, though.

He should have recruited the band members from Powerman 5000 - keep it sci fi, but for the kids

Hell Yeah is too progressive for this band. DiSanto wouldn't be able to keep up.
