People are still complaining that this sounds a lot like a Tool album. A very interesting and slightly desperate point of contention.

Amazing after first listen. I finally took time to check it out, I wanted do do it in late november.
All songs are great so far, especially 7empest, it sometimes gives me a futuristic, sometimes a spacey feeling. Mockingbeat is only 2 minutes long, a "filler" but I like it directly after 7empest!
Also Chocolate Chip Trip is a very nice drum solo song, I wish it was 7 minutes long!
To me the album's atmosphere is quite fitting to listen to in late autumn / december winter.

Now that the dust has settled, I can honestly say that I was quite underwhelmed by this album. I was incredibly hyped in the months leading up to its release, but it didn't turn out be as good as I would have hoped it to be. Some good moments, but overall many sections of prolonged and frankly uninspired jamming and some very questionable Maynard contributions.
