hey matbla00 -

I don't know you, but check out Lowly - Hifalutin. I found it to be a mesmerizing, contemplative listen. It has become one of my favorite transitional albums (meaning seasons, yes I have seasonal transition album favorites....don't @ me). I reviewed it but I was on some trying to be something I'm not shit at the time so don't really rec it, but if you must, it's there.

Out of Mana is probably the only redundant track here and putting it after 137 just doesn't work following that solo

Otherwise perfect alb

Here to rec ManDancing “the good sweat” for matbla00 and anyone else. Great album, and continues to grow and reveal its layers with each listen.

137's solo and climax are aight, but they feel kinda underwhelming as epic moments and the lyrics are weak. Out of Mana picks up from it just fine, but real ones know this alb is all about the (short) opening combo and the (long) closing combo

I consider myself a real one but I'm not sure what you mean here

In the Water might be my fave Brand New song ever.

Where did my rating go for this? Hmm...

137, out of mana, in the water all come close to being top tracks for these guys but each has a fairly significant shortcoming. 137 takes a while to get it going and the main melody is cheesy the first time it comes around. out of mana's verses are a bit weak, and in the water is a bit too predictable. still pretty strong tracks but none of them are in the same tier as lit me up, which is head and shoulders the best one here

In the Water always makes me think of like a post-grunge radio track for some reason. Great song though.

Yeah this has an insane hook of an opening trio and the opener and closer are the best here

Right now whenever anybody talks about Brand New it’s what gets mentioned before the music because it’s the most recent thing. Bang out a couple more albums and it won’t be so I definitely don’t think you’re wrong there.
