“Fuck you, motherfucker, you a ho-ass nigga
I don't know why you trying to go big, nigga, you ain't shit
Walking around like you God's gift to Earth, nigga, you ain't shit
You ain't even buy me no outfit for the fourth
I need that Brazilian, wavy, twenty-eight inch, you playin'
I shouldn't be fuckin' with you anyway
I need a baller-ass, boss-ass nigga
You's a off-brand-ass nigga, everybody know it
Your homies know it, everybody fuckin' know
Fuck you, nigga, don't call me no more
You won't know, you gonna lose on a good bitch
My other nigga is on, you off
What the fuck is really going on?“

The fact that this is only the #8 ranked hip hop album of all time on Sput is honestly ridiculous. I realize it's still very young, but honestly how does this lose to Biggie and GZA?

i kid but 4r spend some time on the classix and you might change your opinion, not that it isnt rare for the well versed to still rate tpab among the top 10 classix as well but to say its ridiculous the site has ready to die and liquid swords rated higher is uhhhh a spicy take
every opinion is valid etc but yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
i think i tend to slightly "underrate" tpab just because im not super into the jazz sound and i think a song like king kunta is terrible and i slightly "overrate" damn because it's a throwback sound to the classic 90/00s west coast sound i grew up on but yes i think both (all kendrick albums) are tremendous
that said for example liquid swords in particular is in another category of legendary in comparison in my humble opinion

Yeah to be fair I've only listened to liquid swords once so I can't really judge. But I've listened to Ready to Die plenty, and the songwriting/lyrics just don't even touch this tbh. Remember that one biggie song where all he does is poorly describe how good he is at sex? I mean come on now.
I have spent time on other classics too, for example I think Illmatic absolutely deserves its place. Madvillainy is great too, but doesn't beat this imo.

i can see rating this higher than ready to die yeah, depends a bit on your tastes as this is obviously more "conscious"/serious than ready to die which although i would say its unfair to simply label it as "party music", it is much more that than tpab
also ready to die sounds a bit dated and if youre not into the old school sound it might not jive with you

I do dig old school jams, but yeah I think it only has the status it has because it came out in the 90s and because he was shot dead honestly. Same with 2pac, he's good but fr his legacy is so inflated because of his death

Album Rating: 4.0
inflated to an extent but we'll have to agree to disagree on your overall premise (:
the feud and murder adds to the mystique but they were both highly celebrated beforehand (im old enough to remember the tail end of their lives/career)
