There it is again, its immense popularity still confuses me.

I'd probs jam Daydreaming a lot more if Pyramid Song didn't exist, but uhhh

Half of my life and everything.

I really love The Numbers, one of the most fun Radiohead tracks in a long while (perhaps since Bodysnatchers/Bangers + Mash?).

'The Numbers' is probably the best track here outside of 'Ful Stop', which is all time top 5 material.

Always thought daydreaming is a bit repetitive and loses steam a few minutes in.

for the one rhead album that had to be released on my birthday, really wish I connected w this one more

It's not bad persay, it's just that some songs like Glassy Eyes and Identikit I wouldn't really hear on a casual basis. Present and The Numbers are the only ones that I revisit here. Ill Wind and Spectre would've definitely helped this record if they were included.

Spectre was gorgeous agreed, and I loved I'll Wind too.

There's so much to love here (drums! arrangements!) but somehow it doesn't really grab me or suck me back in at all either.

Did they ever explain why they placed the tracklisting in alphabetical order?

No I don't think they did. At least I've never found out anything about it.

I always hoped it was because they wanted the listeners to try to figure out an order that worked for them. Here's mine (keeping the original tracklist and no omissions):

1. Glass Eyes

2. The Numbers

3. Burn The Witch

4. Desert Island Disk

5. Daydreaming

6. Decks Dark

7. Ful Stop

8. Identikit

9. Present Tense

10. Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor Rich Man Poor Man Beggar Man Thief

11. True Love Waits

Was always a fan of Glass Eyes as an opener leading into Present Tense, and I think the dilemma of Burn The Witch being a weird standalone song is solved here as well, fitting into the gradual surge/momentum ascension that occurs across the first threee tracks. From there even I'll admit I could endlessly screw around with the ordering, but this has been my most returned-to tracklist. It just flows really well.

Yeah that looks so much better than the actual thing they went for Sowing. They so should have consulted you!
