What i take away from a lot of the features isn’t necessarily that the artists featured are stellar, it’s more that kanye knew exactly how to incorporate them into these songs in the most effective way.

This is still holding onto 2ND best of the decade for me and was only just taken from #1 a few months ago. Pablo is a hell of a grower but isn't even in the same solar system

pablo is far more creative and varied than this. the song structures get boring fast in this. like... runaway is such a boring song idk why everyone reps it. hell of a life, devil, so appalled, all so meh. the singles don't have great longevity too. i'm sick of hearing them now. blame game and lost in the world are 2 of the only songs i love to come back to. this is a huge album and a very important one for pop music, i just don't think it has a lot of staying power.

Pablo is varied alright, but it just comes off as one massive hodgepodge. A fun one, but still. As far as creativity... no... no I just don’t agree with that by any stretch of the imagination. So much thought went into every nook and cranny on here

this doesn't lack imagination per se. this is a masterfully crafted pop album and objectively it's the better album, i just feel like songs overstay their welcome and aren't as memorable as other stuff he's done. pablo is a mess of an album and not everything works but the good songs are SO good. i would never object to throwing this on though and tbh it's more of a 4 for me than a 3.5

it's just the lyrics on Lights are so fucking bad, it had the potential to be a great song but then Fergie got on it and Kanye tried to match her level of lyricism

ugh i forgot about fergie's part. god damn she's awful. i tend not to focus too much on lyrics, kaney isn't exactly the most stellar lyricist. for me i think maybe it's oversaturation that ruined the song. for a while there you couldn't go anywhere without hearing that song like 10 times a day. i think gorgeous and power are way better singles
