this is dense af. I really like what's going on in the instrumentals tbh. some amazing moments and The Pecan Tree is a perfect closer. I can't see myself getting into any other black metal though because the screams were not my thing at all. luckily, they were so well mixed on this album that I didn't mind them too much. glad I finally fully checked this

Con you could also try the new Alcest album, it's the only one I've heard of theirs but I like you am not a fan of the screaming but I love that album.
Gotta try this soon myself, I've heard Dream House before and it rules.

And yeah think of the vocals in music like this as more of an atmospheric effect than actual vocals if that makes any sense. if you're expecting them to drive the songs then you're going to be disappointed by them. They're there, and the lyrics are in them, but they aren't supposed to be the focal point of the music
