Granted, the metallica comparison is obviously invited. However who was metallica imitating? Or any other band for that matter.
This goes beyond imitation. The only way Trivium could further rip off Metallica would be if their bassist (who, like Metallica, is the only non-dickhead in the band it seems) died in a bus accident.

I have to say, Ascendancy is a great album. That being said, this is a moderate album. I dont belive it is a complete ripp-off of Master of Puppets, but i do belive that the vocals sound to much like James Hetfield. I enjoyed this album on the first listen and i believe the first few songs are decent songs. But, the album lacks after a while. Ascendancy is much,much better. Hell, ALOT better.

I borrowed this album off of my mate. Not only did the album's awfulness make me feel white hot with inexplicable anger, i also have no respect for him and question everything he says in reference to music. i know that sounds harsh and whatnot, but it really is that bad seriously. if you appreciate good music, steer clear

How can some body rate these guys a 1 at least give them a damn 3. Just because the band doesn't want to scream anymore and sing like little pussy biches, (ya thats right i said pussy little biches), its for the better. Come on think nobody can be what Metallica was, and in my opinion these guys were really tring to hard to be something there not (screaming). Come on an Asian screaming........just dont go along (and im Asian, no lie). What I am trying to get acrossed is that screaming is out, deep distored singing is what a lot a metal bands have begun to do. A good example of this is Avenged Sevenfold, when they stoped screaming they got even more plublisity and more fans why because they stoped screaming (mainly). So dont be saying that these guys new album sucked, because the the truth is the guitar has got better, the harmonizing has gotin even greater, and the vocals rock..............,so just let these guys sing and play how they want to, with out so called fans discrediting them.

Jesus Christ, what is with all of these kids coming on here thinking the reason why the rating is so low is because he doesn't scream anymore?
I actually like his voice here a lot more than I did on their past releases, but guess what? It's still a poor album in my book. This should be a 2, but I'm a sucker for "Ignition".
