I've been waiting to listen to this album for the last 2 days, working from early in the morning until well past midnight since being released. I've been patient in trying to save it for a special listen without distractions. 3 tracks in, I received a message from my gf admitting on cheating on me. Fuck my life

It's all good mate, I guess it's sublime timing haha
TDBHAH came out just when my great grand mother died and I was 20, so I've got to spend a lot more time with her than most people do with theirs, so it was a massive blow and that album resonated with me at that time.
Tragedy Will Find Us got me through a couple of depressing years of binge drinking and procrastinating through university and I came out on the other end with an engineering degree with these guys being pretty much the soundtrack to all that.
After all that, I'm going to enjoy this with a smile on my face in spite of all

^ sometimes it's the things we think are bad that give us the opportunity to live better (I'm not very good at handling these situations. Really wish you all the best 💛) btw, the album is superb!!! Looking forward to your rating!

I think the singles are the weakest songs here and they are all absolutely killer.
Last song is simply god-tier. I love the whole concept of the lyrics as well. The way I understand it is that it describes a depressed, lost individual’s fantasy of their story being over and them having figured it out and done well enough to be counted, in some sense, among saints.

"I think the singles are the weakest songs here and they are all absolutely killer. "
I think we all agree that the singles aren't weak in terms of quality. when people say they're weak, maybe it really indicates they become stale and predictable because of the repetition of the formula. (as @nicktheman1 et al. said.)

i guess i'm in the minorty, i've probably seen a couple others say the same, but the last song is the weakest so far for me

@IntoTheFire I understand you, I remember you said you didn't like the vocal choir stuff. May I ask what are your favourite tracks on the album?

yeah i think it's just not my thing lol. sworn to silence is my favorite, bound to the burn, whispers, and flesh beneath after. i don't dislike any song but i think i like the more straightward punky stuff with no singing

"take away the lyrics and you’re left with v well done but incredibly down the line and well trodden and not particularly unique metalcore."
I believe that fans of this band (including the band themselves) are the lovers of the 2000s' Misery Signals-like metalcore which is faithful to the instruments and screams. Originality may never have been the goal, the goal was the excellence and refinement of this type of metalcore.
