i almost visited sheffield once
and then i realised where it sits on the uk's mess of rail connections that aren't the two good north/south lines
and no fucking thank u

I have to pass through Sheffield to get between my current and former home 'towns'... so does that mean I am very offended now? I can feel the rage building.

don't blame me blame rail privatisation, and maybe shitty shinkansen wannabe hs2 for not bringing it into the loop

'aren't the two good north/south lines'
I didn't know if you were talking about the place themselves, or simply the absolute ball-ache of getting to said places via our shitty rail network... if it's the latter then I can't disagree
I once looked up how I would get to Northampton from Leeds. Apparently the quickest way was via Manchester, or Milton Keynes, lol. Apologies to anyone who doesn't understand UK geography but essentially these are detours akin to starting by travelling in the opposite direction, one of them quite literally.

Yeah I'm actually quite grateful it ONLY takes around 2.5 hours to go 100 miles (to see my family - well the rail part of the journey, anyway)... could actually be a lot worse. 1 or 2 changes. It's just a bitch when you miss your change and there isn't another one for ages.
No wonder Eva left us.

I mean it's all wonderful, but I actually prefer the first half.

This feels much more like Grievances 2.0 than Time Will Die... 2.0. Their last record was near perfection IMO. I feel this one lacks some of the dynamics and peaks of that album. Might be more of a grower, not sure. Still very solid though.

This album is really consistent but that leads to my main issues which is predictability and playing it safe. Nothing wrong with the approach to more mature songwriting but nothing surprised me at any point especially following TWD.

'wow that's a longass time'
hence the capitalisation, it is an unreasonable amount of time in reality, but that's what happens when you don't drive I guess. Inefficient mode of travel in this country seemingly, especially if you have to change trains / wait around for the next one.
'you think?'
occasionally yeah
