Thanks y’all, incredibly proud of how it came out. That picture doesn’t do justice of how fucking clean it is. The artist was stoked to work on it when I originally sent him the design and we worked hard together to figure out the best way to work with blacks and shading to translate it to tattoo form without it being an all black design. He spent extra time being super meticulous with the finer details and texture shading and I was happy to have spent the extra money for the time. Took ~5 hrs to complete.
Once it heals more I’ll throw a clearer photo in here. I wouldn’t change a thing about it.

it will never not be Cicada's Song Part II for me

They toured this year not on the west coast so I didn't get a chance to see them. That probably would have been the best way to get some insight.

y'all get the email hinting at a spinoff album before they release Idyll Opus VII-XII?
at least that's how I read the cryptic message, implying there's going to be an EP or something that focuses on one of the characters that's separate from the Idyll Opus storyline

The end of this disc always breaks me, it's pure magic. So much love in this music. It's pretty much perfect

between the two there'll be an hour and a half of highlights I can headcanon as the actual album. no complaints

In light of the warmer weather, I've had the urge to revisit this. I have to say I'm a bit warmer (ha) to it now than I was when it released. Probably the best thing about this album, to me, is how perfectly it captures that summer vibe and the nostalgia that comes with it. Some things here still frustrate me a lot, and puts me at heavily at odds with the things I love about it... Like, I can't tell if it's a 3.5 or a 4.5. So I guess I'm settled at 4.0 lol.

hmmmm okay
mixing feels off on the first track, the drums are clearly the backbone but they are not even close to as crisp as they sound on here but idk how that shit works so who knows lmao, it's still a good song. 2nd song is good too. track 3 feels toooooo country tinged, wasn't huge on it. track 4 was also kind of a snore. track 5 was perfect Adjy, they can't mess something like this up omg
feelin like a 3.5 after 1 listen and could see it being a 4. good when good and that's a good compliment right??? seriously One 4th of July was wonderful

new ep is nice. its not the epic that idyll opus is but i dont really mind that. they all are reminiscent of the more energetic bits of that album

Stepping in the Same River Twice was unbelievable from the first note, this band can do no wrong (except plan tours)

Mixing definitely feels off on the EP. Vocals seem buried and drums too high up, even if the drums are a highlight of the band. Still a joy, but makes it miss that spark this one has.
