Leave me in a cage

My foot on a tether

And only return to pluck out all my feathers

One by one

Have you collected enough?

One by one

Are you done playing rough?

This hurts too much to be love

Dang...

Would love for there to bit a bit more stylistic variation over the 8 tracks, but the sound they have going on is fucking wonderful.

I think The Currency of Beauty might be my favourite.

This album was so beautiful and touching I read mine and mars’ review two years later and the whole thing is so fitting for this elegant FUCK OFF album,

It was announced about 6 days ago that Svalbard has signed to Nuclear Blast Records. Guess we can expect some goodness soon.

This is a a great record but yeah do agree they could use a bit more variation with some songs. Still slaps

I mean I'm glad they get a big label, but I hope they don't mess with their sound.

Yeah me too, I love what they've got going on.

Have recently been diving into their older stuff and it's so good - Grayscale is one of the most intense songs i've ever heard

I think they used to be with Holy Roar but I could be wrong. Sadly, the owner turned out to be an absolute waste of space.

And yeah their older work is great! Brings a bit more of a straightforward intensity whereas this is where they turn down a more atmospheric route.

I have a lot of faith in this band for an amazing album any direction they go.

I have faith in the BAND. I have less faith in the LABEL.

But I shouldn't be too cynical, optimism is healthier for the soul.

To the truth I must surrender

It's not going to get any better

This is my resignation letter

To every little hope I fell for

Every brittle love I lied for

THAT FOOL IN ME IS DEAD

Gotta revisit this thing. Been a while since Svalbard beat me up.

I actually haven't streamed it in a hot minute either. I'm currently played 2022 catch-up.

I still missed a biiig gap from like March to May, but I'll (hopefully) circle back in the future.

Need to give this a good spin! I've bumped into Serena a few times in the past (reasons completely unrelated to music) and when she said she was in a heavy band I had to check it out. The couple of songs I blasted in the car honestly blew me away, crazy amounts of energy! Looking forward to checking this out in full.
