I never truly sat to listen to this before. What a mistake. The joy to discover Stabwound in 2023 is nonetheless absolute. I'm from France and this album seemed a bit underappreciated there.
Gorgeous bass line everywhere

This is top notch album. It's rich, digest and catchy. The techy side just adds depth. Relevant Tech death in a nutshell!

decent album but not technical enough

The bass solo in Stabwound is stellar

I think I actually prefer this to Onset these days. It's not as technical, but the lyrics and overall songwriting are quite a step up imo

Honestly I love when bands/artists just drop a few absolute classic albums and then just ride out into the sunset
"Better to burn out than fade away" type of thing

Plenty of bands released material well after their peak days in the sun
The solo at the end of Stillborn One going back into the opening riff is a crazy transition. Just insane sweeping and then immediately chill on the way out lol

Still one of the best, if not the best, tech death albums ever. Absolute masterclass. This motherfucker would make so much money if he decided to tour again

One of the best fs, honestly onset is pretty on par with this for me too

Both albums by this band are a tad overrated but still rule.
