I personally like the glam influences, it makes me think how scared people would've been expecting to hear some Def Leppard or 80s Van Halen knock off upon hearing Man in the Box and then hear the incredibly nihilistic and shocking opener We Die Young. What prevents me from liking the album more is the poor ass production.

Also holy gosh I never knew they used to be an actual glam metal band... The name Alice IN Chains makes much more sense now

In their defense, it was Layne with 3 different people, no Cantrell or Kinney

"Probably not the best idea I've ever had, but I just started listening to this ep and it will be my first exposure to alice in chains"

Not a bad idea at all buddy. First alice in chains i spun was unplugged, i think getting to their acoustic stuff first actually got me into loving em even more.

Basically, me and Ars feel exactly the same about facelift. Still a great album, though.

Controversial opinion: I prefer the two post Layne releases to Facelift.

Dunno man, i'd probably agree if they weren't so horribly produced.

I feel like I'm in the minority here but this and sap are my two favorite aic releases

This is probably my fave too. I'd rank dirt, unplugged and self titled ahead of sap though, but it's better than facelift imo.
