Honestly AWLWLB and Teethed Glory and Injury were two albums I first thought of when listening to this at first, almost as if this was the result of their child. Seemingly, on the surface, not exactly the same, but when listening again after listening to this, there are a lot of similarities. Can def get Converge comparisons. Especially how The Flammable Man is like Phoenix in Flames and how Less Sex is like Coral Blue or Cruel Bloom. Aimless Arrow reminds me a bit of the vocals with their urgency. Even some Nick Cave at times. I see much more similarities there than any Swans albums which strangely pops up much more than any of the aforementioned. It’s not exactly groundbreaking sonically, but I think it is truly something special in how it concocts itself from influences and does something completely demented and different from said influences.

''Not the same genre at all, lol''
Was kinda still bunching them with the mathcore/metalcore genre even though this is obviously neither of those 2 things.

I’m surprised at how that album hasn’t been mentioned more here in comparison. Hadn’t heard that album in a while and was immediately reminded of it upon listening. Went back and listened and was surprised at all the similarities, especially instrumentally. Vocals, not so much, but the maniacal chants are similar at times and all those grooves.

I’d really have to dig deep in order to find Converge here, either you haven’t heard much in the respective genres, there’s a superficial similarity you’ve latched onto, or you have weird hearing, maybe all 3.

Is it weird that the band I most think of is Deathspell Omega. Not because they are even slightly musically similar but this is one of the only things along with DO that truly actually gets under my skin.
Nothing has given me that vibe quite like this in years

This band went from completely under my radar to one of my all time favorites in a matter of a week... Such creative geniuses. If you guys haven’t listened to Hell Songs yet, I highly recommend it.

Daughters was a good portion of my 7th grade soundtrack. Nice surprise to see them drop something new especially seeing it at #1 in the trending albums. Got some serious jamming to do
