That lyric about being trapped in the mall for too long is a little cringe-y to me. I love the song, but that always makes me go, “ugh.” And that’s the only moment that does that to me now. There were a lot of those moments my first few listens to the album, but that’s the only one that hasn’t grown on me yet. Still an amazing song, don’t get me wrong. But that’s the weak link for me.

I love trapped in dillards and I think the back half of the album in general is taken for granted, won’t drown and lambert are two of the best tracks in the bands discog

Completely agree about the back half of the album. Many people seem to think the album is front-loaded, but nothing could be further from the truth. Won’t Drown and Lambert are incredible. I also don’t think Bastardizer gets enough credit. That track is a major highlight of the album.

overall the back half is still weaker, but Bastardizer, Won't Drown, and Lambert are three of the band's best songs. Dillard's and Crown Candy just drag it down a bit, though both have grown on me.

Trapped In Dillard's is one of my absolute favorite songs here, the chorus is phenomenal

And you gentlemen are correct about the second half.

ye the chorus on Dillard's is great. Honestly it's the tone of that ploppy, whiney synth loop that just kinda grates on my ears. One of the few moments on here where I think less would've been more.

The second half is great but the first half sounds absolutely huge in comparison

something about the diction of the line “so you mock up an ad, gag a press pit” that’s really satisfying in slapstick

Outside of the clear best tracks, this is kinda weak. A lot of filler songs imo

Grand Paradise, Five Cups, and Heartless are the only ones I really like. Most of the rest just sounds like filler to me, like the title track which has a very mediocre chorus, or Lich Prince which features an awesome solo in an otherwise forgettable song. Trapped in Dillard's is beautiful but his falsetto is so mediocre. Bastardizer and Crown Candy are completely forgettable. Won't Drown is awesome, I forgot about that one. Lambert is also beautiful but that soft beat in the first half irritates me

Bastardizer is great though? It’s hard for me to narrow down to a top 5 for this, but that and Dillard’s both easily make it
