@Ben: I actually get sort of a Rush vibe from that song, like 80s Hold Your Fire-era Rush

Yeah that's an interesting take actually I can hear that, funny what different people pick up! Wilson wears his influences on his sleeve so much here that I find the most fun thing about this album is trying to work out what each song reminds me of

Though maybe the Rush comparison was just the lyrics of that song playing with your mind ;)

The lyrics are reminiscent, yeah, but also a number of moments where Steve channels some of Geddy's more subdued vocal work. And the chorus reminds me a lot of the poppier side of Rush's music

Yeah I can 100% hear it in the vocal work, Steve even looks like Geddy's shy artsy younger brother on the album cover lol

Was also referring to the chorus lyrics: "I feel the RUSH of love" as a possible confounding variable there haha

“It's a spectacular experience, Omair. Watched him live two years ago and I still can't get over it. It's a pity the show in Athens coincides with my uni graduation in July.”

I can attest to that and from someone who has seen every tour since the beginning, his stage production has gotten even better and better with each album cycle. I was originally going to both NYC shows in 3 weeks but with Rosetta playing at Vitus the same night of the first show (and them being a band whom I’ve yet to see live up until then), I had to sell it, but will be there the 2nd night. IDK if he’ll change the setlist up for the US and Canada, but if it remains consistent to what he’s been doing for double night stands, I think I’ll still end up leaving the show very happy.

Anyone heard the new song How Big the Space? Really cool track, reminiscent of The Beatles and Floyd.

Yep, got the 12" of it (along w/the first Bass Communion album vinyl) this Record Store Day. I didn't really think of it at the time but listening to it again just now, I can hear and feel some Beatles and/or Floyd vibes in the song.

The last movement of Detonation drags the song down imo. Could have been better

I met Stephen and he just stared at me coldly and pensively. I said Hello Steven, he said 'Hallow'

I was kidding, of course. Although Steven does look pretty serious and intense, he's really nice.

He looks really young for being 50, doesn't he?

The guitar solo and its parts on the t/t may be the best I’ve ever heard.
