Almost every band goes through hard spots where they dont write music thats as good as the old stuff. I Blame it on Bob Rock... that a**wipe. LoL

They didn't really do anything different here. It's just Metallica without solos. It sucks just as much as all their other material.
Yeah, that's pretty much completely wrong.

Why dont you say why all their other material sucked?

So just because I like thrash you think im musically close-minded? Hell no. Thrash is just my favorite type of metal. Just because i dont listen to Blink 182 and Fall out Boy doesnt mean I only like thrash or metal. Believe it or not, I can apreciate talent in bands I absolutely hate.
And I WILL go read that review and the threads. You dont even know me, so dont assume you know what my musical likes and dislikes are.

I dont really care if you give a F*** about my tastes. And you think just because my ratings say only metal, hard rock and grunge that I only listen to that? And im well aware that being open minded is more than just appreciating talent in bands. I also do like classical, blues, jazz, punk, ska, and reggae to name a few.
Also, I didnt call you out. I asked a simple question, and you blew up on me. So with that being said, I think we should stop arguing like two old ladies and jut forget it.

Of your 66 ratings, not one is outside the metal/hard rock genre.
I'd say that that classifies as not being open minded.

Then rate an album by someone other than Metallica.
You want us to think you aren't close-minded? Give us a reason to believe it.

This probably was brought up, but I don't feel like reading through 39 pages of posts to find out. But does anyone realize that Metallica wanted the production to sound the way it does on this album. They did it to sound like a band jamming in somones garage and I have to say from what I've heard it really sounds that way. I've only heard a couple songs but I have to say what I've heard is the best music they've wrote since And Justice For All. I'm sorry, especially to all the metal noobs that think The Black Album is Metallica's best, but Black Album era Metallica plain sucked. This Message Edited On 03.02.07

Yeah, it's been discussed. They do a good job of sounding like immature musicians jumping around in someone's garage while playing the guitar and hitting tin garbage cans. And that's not necessarily good music. I'd say this is saved from complete failure by a couple of riffs and vocal melodies and harmonies that catch my interest every now and then.
And the Black Album is twice as good as this, hands down.
Oh, and this does have a few good songs, which are probably the only ones you've heard. Songs like Some Kind of Monster, Invisible Kid, and Dirty Window make me want to throw a brick through my windowThis Message Edited On 03.02.07

I've heard Frantic, Saint Anger, Shoot Me Again and The Unnamed Feeling. I liked them all but The Unnamed Feeling was easily the best of what I've heard. I don't necesarily think this album is very good but I certainly think this is in all likeliness better than Load/Reload and I'd probably like it more than the Black Album too.

That implies that there was a point in time when they didn't suck. You all know where I'm going with this, right? Do I really need to finish the joke?

You can personally think Metallica sucks but it's pratically not debatlable that Metallica's first four album were some of the greatist thrash, hell metal albums of all time. Don't go thinking I'm just some Metallica fanboy either. Just check out my profile and see what I listen to if you need proof. Also like I said I think Black Album era Metallica sucks.

Actually, chimera, those songs you mentioned happen to be the best on here. St. Anger is, actually, a very good song in my opinion. Same goes for Shoot Me Again. Frantic and the Unnamed Feeling can be enjoyable at parts... but most of the rest of the songs are actually garbage. I actually recommend you buy/download this just for the sake of hearing how bad the rest of the songs are.
