Strange Brew, the first minute or so anyway, could totally have been on the last Storm Corrosion album. As could the ward. A good thing!

This is the best of the new-era Opeth.

Haven't heard this enough, but it seems more jam oriented and less structured than PC, like Heritage did.

Wish the production was less dull and muddy

Wisp is the only track I don't care for. Era is catchy but kinda lame, Chrysalis I like but goes nowhere. It's a 3 for sure at least

Yeah great, Ian Ã…kerfeldt. Now your lyrics just have to go beyond the emotional range of a gloomy teenager.

I like Will O' The Wisp only after the 3 minute mark.

Will O The Wisp is an amazing track, among my favs on here. The bonus tracks make the album. Great record, really digging it.

Agreed. This is an example of how not to do dynamics. Really quiet and then really loud. Really? That's what mainly bothers me here. I made some tweaks to most of the tracks and it instantly became more enjoyable.

Yeah, the muddy production really affects the music to a certain degree and many details are swallowed which truly is shame. I also consider adjusting the tracks myself somehow, how did you do it Dis_Con_Nec_Ted?

But what I mean is that some sections really are so quiet that it detracts from the song.

Using a free audio editing program such as wavepad or audacity by raising certain volume levels. Enhanced my listening experience doing that. Gone are the obnoxiously quiet parts of Wilde Flowers, outro to Sojourn, intro to Era and the bookends among other things.

Thx for the reply bro, audacity came to my mind instantly, will def give it a try.

If I have the time I even might try to use Ableton.
