I won't lie when this album first came out it didn't click with me, but with time and the right atmosphere it is beast

I'm fond of the band and they've never really faltered on any of their releases. But I wouldn't rate this higher than a 4.

Honestly this album is somewhat overrated. It's one of their better ones but definitely not the best. First 4 albums are all better.

I don't think this is overrated at all but I would take STDIACD and ATWW over it.

this is their best album. the first two albums are good but really don't hold a candle to some of their later stuff imo.

Probably somewhere around my 4th as well. Band rules. Relistened to ATWW on a long drive recently and that album is still sooo good

I picked up Halls when it dropped and fell in love with the band, but that album does not hold up as well as something like Since the Day it all Came Down for me. I recently when back and relistened to Halls and, yeah it's charming, it's a great start, but STDIACD is still a masterpiece

I remember I saw Insomnium play this entire album in like 2017. It was in some hole in the wall bar that doubled as a restaurant outside. The bar and restaurant shared the building but they were more like two different establishments. To get to the show you had to walk through this patio area where there were a bunch of hipsters having lunch who didn't give a shit that Insomnium was going to be playing there that day. It was pretty humorous. It was a really great show. The other couple times I've seen Insomnium have been pretty dull tbh. But that was sick.

Hell yeah, the weird small shows like that are always the best. I hate bands I like getting small rooms but the shows are so much cooler up close in smaller rooms
