so far ahead of its time it might as well have been made in medieval times

Yeah IDK why I don't have this 5'd... I've given out too many of those lately and its starting to make me feel like a cheap whore...that to I have just dug into some really awesome life enriching material as of late. Lot of things that used to be peripheral have been clicking lately.

@scoot one of the coolest things about this album is how it sounds both ancient, and modern
@zak yeah I get that, and also I feel it's only natural that as time passes more albums will click into that "classic" territory. I've had a "one 5 per band" rule for a while and even that is starting to feel dishonest at times lol

do y'all dream of music? i very rarely do, recently it's happened to me more often though :0
like, i hear the song
|
| |
Hmmm sometimes? I'm sometimes conscious of music featuring in a dream, but not often at all ig
I once dream-composed a song by mistake and it was, but when I wrote it down and recorded it, it wasn't as good ((

“Demon of the Fall
June 16th 2022
Blue Ghost, The Ferryman, Watering Can, Birth Pains
4 all-time contenders right there”
hmm, well I got the first three right. They Aren’t All Beautiful over Birth Pains. I can get through Madrid for Girl Watering Can reasons but the album tails off in the second half on reflection. A lot less even and more highlight reliant than I remember. Toby’s cleans sound worse than I remember too in a couple of moments

don’t get me wrong Geography is rather good too, but I dunno it’s striking me as unusual how I’ve been mostly steadfast in my ranking of this over several years now, with the exception of “Birth Pains” falling, where’s my hidden gem at?
Like I say, highlight heavy and unwavering in that regard, perhaps. I may be starting to veer towards Body Map / Part the Second as preferences a little more, for that reason. We’ll see

Body Map has been striking me as a more stable listening experience recently. But I prefer the highs on Bath. But man Birth Pains has never once faltered to my ears…

yeah, it’s a highlights / consistency contrast and the latter has been increasingly important to me of late, especially when you’ve been listening to an album on / off for years. In a sense the separate halves are unhelpful in this regard also
Part the Second is the real sleeper candidate that’s starting to really pay off. I could see it becoming my fave motW in the future
|
| |
Part the Second is the best motW by a pretty vast distance for me, and I dig everything else they made

Part The Second is amazing no doubt, it goes a bit more obtuse for me to feel as emotionally connected to it. We can agree they’re all essential though

The second half of this album is one of the best musical experiences I've ever had. It's beyond a classic
