Vulnicura is the only album I really need to brush up on. I remember my reactions to it but I don't fully recall my overall opinion of it. I'm looking forward to that. But yeah, Utopia is incredible and showing no signs whatsoever of growing off.

I just jammed Vespertine for the first time and loved a lot of it. Any suggestions on where to go next if I've only heard that and this all the way through?

I'd say Debut because with that you'll get a completely different Björk - more youthful and energetic. It's nothing like those two though, but that's exactly why that's the way to go imo.

Medulla was oddly the album that got me into Bjork. Very underrated too, maybe her second or third best album

I just don't get Biophelia. I even like Volta better at this point.

[3] but gonna give Biophilia another jam right now cuz it deserves another chance. I love Volta a lot. Medúlla used to be my least fav, but Biophilia has spent the most time in last. Maybe it'll change now.

^wow i had the same reason for vespertine.

even with unravel being my favourite bjork track ever, i've always preferred vespertine for how explorative and extravagant it is.

Vespertine by far imo. It's kinda perplexing how I love two thirds of her discog and that one's still that far ahead.

'even with unravel being my favourite bjork track ever' (2)

Anyway, the two albums to me are a lot closer in enjoyment than when I first experienced them. In that Vespertine is closing on this over time, however I still love this more (maybe because I heard it first). The subtle beauty of Verspertine really sneaks up on you.

It actually took me a few months of thinking "yee it's great" and then one winter night listening to it completely in the mood to suddenly sit there and think "... okay, this could be one of my favorites - how didn't I notice before?" Now it's my second favorite album. I think the subtlety wouldn't get past me now that I'm a more "experienced listener" though ... after all, it didn't took me long to unpack Biophilia's potential some time after that.

I'm pretty sure Vespertine was a rock solid 4 on first listen, must've just established a greater connection with it over time.

Biophilia is a more 'difficult' listen on the face of it, in fact you could say that about all of her albums after the first 4. I went chronologically which helped.
