Haha didn't you say you were seeing them in Hawaii someplace? If I didn't just dream that it'll be amazing man
I hope you get the same setlist as I did because it ended with Dismantle.Repair - The Resistance - Godspeed - Feel Good Drag - Fin which is one of the best 20 minutes of any concert I've ever been to. absolutely exceptional

I'm actually in Hawaii right now for vacation but nah I'm seeing them in Anaheim, CA near my hometown.
Also holy shit that is an awesome setlist! Damn

Ah ok haha thought I'd just made it up. Still I hope you're having a great vacation man Hawaii must be amazing
http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/anberlin/2014/unsw-roundhouse-sydney-australia-23cfa887.html here's the full setlist almost exactly the same as tommy got a few nights ago except he got Dance Dance and we didn't which sucks. Still top choices though although I was surprised at the complete lack of Lowborn

Yeah it's great! The ocean is ridiculously clear, got to swim with dolphins today lol.
That setlist is pretty sweet, except maybe their NTFP picks (Time and Confusion and title track to a lesser extent are two of their weaker songs imo)
Also fin with harbinger lyrics at the end? Fuck that's gonna be awesome lol. But ye I really would love to hear at least Hearing Voices and We Are Destroyers live, but oh well.

Haha seems like such a stereotypical thing to do :D sounds amazing though
Time and Confusion I definitely could've done without although the WHOA OH! YEAH AH! part live was amazing. As for the title track, in studio yeah maybe I agree but it and all the other NTFP songs live absolutely went off. Those songs were just made to be played in a live setting, the energy and crowd response were amazing. Feel Good Drag is just...
Yeah they cut out the "Taaaake what you will what you will and leeeeave" part of Fin and instead after the choir part he started yelling "WE'LL LIVE FOREVER, FOREVER, FOREVER" and everyone in the crowd put their hands up with the two fingers crossed like on the Lowborn cover art, it was emotional as hell
Agreed Hearing Voices could've replaced Breaking or Time and Confusion easy

Haha tbh I didn't realize it was a stereotypical thing to do but it was pretty sweet either way.
This island (the big one) is pretty shitty anyways tbh so I'm glad I did something fun (flying to
Kauai tomorrow).
And damn in that case I'll spin NTFP some more so I know more of the lyrics haha. And damn I hope
I don't tear up on that LOL I mean I won't but fuck it's gonna be sad

Really? What makes it so shitty?
If I was a lifelong fan who'd been into them since Cities-era (which I'm assuming you are) I would have teared up no question. I'm really regretting not getting into them earlier now because if I'd known the lyrics to more of the songs they played it would have been an even better night. As it was I pretty much just belted along to most of the choruses until the Dismantle to Fin run started at which point I knew every word and the night became 10/10
UWCC was brilliant too of course

It's pretty big but there isn't really anything to do, few beaches (mostly lava rock coasts instead of white sand beaches like good beaches are). There aren't that many nearby hiking spots and a lot of the island is inaccessible (rainforest) or plain (lots of cooled lava).
I've actually only been a fan of anberlin since early 2011(!) but yeah they've been my favorite band got a while so I might actually tear up. Idk I usually don't though lol.
And yeah knowing the lyrics definitely helps a concert experience. At least you knew a decent amount tho! But ye I'm gonna go crazy during uwcc, dismantle, fin, etc haha

yah told you fin ruled without the coda
guitarist with grey beard (christian?) is so sexy

Lol did you see the interview where Stephen is like at the end "Thanks everyone. I'm Stephen Christian" and Christian is like "and i'm Christian.... Stephens" lol.
Btw do people in Australia say "was like" for "said" or is that a California thing

Fair enough but cooled lava still sounds pretty fucking awesome to me. I've never been on vacation or seen anything remotely like that
Haha fair enough, seems like a lot longer. I only really listened to anything outside of Godspeed/Cable Car/Dismantle last year when I checked NTFP and Cities so I had a lot of lyric-learning to do before I saw them. Maybe I'm just a softie (probably the truth) but I was fairly close in that last bit of Fin/Harbinger
Dismantle is absolutely ridiculous live that chorus was just made to be screamed at full lung capacity!

Album Rating: 4.1
Yeah but tom you didn't tell me about the Harbinger part that fucking ruled
Still would've payed a lot of money to see the end of Fin though, in-studio its the best thing they ever wrote
" Btw do people in Australia say "was like" for "said" or is that a California thing" cannot say I know

Saw them in Brisbane on Saturday night. Also very surprised at lack of Lowborn tracks.
I did notice that Stephen sang the lyric "we'll live forever" at the end of Fin which was cool and made me wanna cry haha
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.5
Oh yeah it was definitely cool, but I mean after you see it and shit there really isn't much more to it. It's like a hiking trail or something that eats up hours at a time. And oh man that's a bummer, well if you ever end up taking a vacation to Southern California hit me up!
And tbh with the whole crowd there who knows what will happen lol. Dismantle was definitely the standout when I watched them a few years ago (no fin), definitely an awesome live song. At least you knew the lyrics of their best songs ;-)
And alright i'll take it for a Californian thing lol
Anyways my phone is about to die, will chat another time!

not familiar with harbinger rowan so i didn't connect those dots
stephen just sang about livin for ever and i was like that's fuckin m/ and raised my pinky in agreement

Would love to vacation literally all over the world one day ahh if only
True I think I got the essentials pretty much down pat and I could belt out the choruses at least to most other songs eg Art of War which is another one made to be yelled by a large crowd, so good
Later toxin have a good one bro!
@tom obviously you're not Anberlin elite, for shame
was definitely the perfect ending to the show though pinkies all round the shop
|

'anberlin elite'
lol apart from this phrase being utter wank i been jammin em since 05 dude don't even
