Nevermind gets shit on so much around here, it's literally the same quality as this for me.

Nevermind is good (like 3.5 good) but its super poppiness brings it down

Album Rating: 4.5
I've always been partial to Nevermind, but they're both close.
|
| |
huh
how would you sell this album to me if i said i think nevermind is thoroughly mediocre but i enjoy other grunge bands a great deal
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.5
Well let's put it this way: Nevermind was Kurt trying to be poppy to appeal to the masses, while In Utero was him saying fuck you to all of those people and making harder to listen to noise rock influenced grunge in an attempt to isolate himself from the pop industry.

'Super poppiness'
Was still heavier than most music played on the radio back then and today.
|
| |
@Ars i guess i'll give it a try, honestly i was never really able to get into this band and the obsessive fanboyism that a lot of more casual music listeners (especially le wrong generation rock teens) have for them certainly didn't help
" Was still heavier than most music played on the radio back then and today."
which is why i personally have never used mainstream radio as a source of heavy music
|
| |
Both albums are incredible but In Utero is a different beast, Park buddy.
|
| |
i'm glad you like them but i've always felt this band was super overrated
but like i said, i'll give this one another shake
|
| |
Yeah dude give it a shot, if it doesn't do much for you at least try the unplugged. That one is almost unanimously acclaimed as a fantastic record.
