La Torre: "The songs that we have right now are, I would say, melodic. There are some heavy tunes on

there that are just, like, really rocking. I mean, some of the songs remind me, again, of Rage For

Order, Operation: Mindcrime. We’ll probably slip in something that’s got a commercial - not that we’re

trying to - something with a more commercial appeal, like the song ‘In This Light’ did on the record

that I did before. But, overall, I’m hopeful that when it’s all said and done this record will have a

really good drive, great, melodic choruses, great guitar parts, very dynamic. A little more prog.

There’s a little more proggy elements…"

Good to hear about the prog approach on the new record, but sadly, rumors are swirling that QR are once again without a record label.

As long as they play stuff from Rage for Order I'm happy. The singer changed but the band is still there, if

they are going to publish a more focused album then let them write.

They are touring with Dream Theater, probably gonna see them in Tuscany in July.

Why should he keep his mouth shut? He's the new face of the band and he's being interviewed. What a stupid fucking thing to say...

you just dont get it Willie and are without a doubt NOT a long time Queensryche fan. if you were then you would get my drift.

that ass clown is on the payroll and is certainly not the face of Queensryche. shame on wilton and company for giving him the freedom to speak to the media.

yeah, and i say dumb things!

I didn't get into them until Empire, so it was only a few years later that they went to shit. So, long time fan? Sort-of, but most of that time the band has sucked.

Dropping Geoff has made them less shit and Todd is more than on the payroll since he is writing and contributing (Which makes him a bigger member of Queensryche than most the original members were for the last four-or-so albums). Wilton and Co. giving him license to speak to the media has essentially made him the new 'face' of Queensryche. The other members don't want it, they never have. They made a good effort to pretend they did for the last album, but they're right back to being behind the scenes again.

i'll never get how you rate this higher than The Warning and the EP either.

they will be playing to 500 people opening for DT and for good reason......epic fail for a band that once played in front of 15,000 consistently.

what's next? a crowd funded album?

and you do know you can own shares of QR stock, right Willie?

LOL and RIP

I'd rather listen to Here in the Now Frontier than this. Its more interesting at least

Because this is better than both of those albums. The Warning could probably be better if it had a better production. The EP has the opening track going for it and a few other tracks that aren't bad, but this is better than that.

You're acting like they weren't already playing small venues before they dumped Geoff Tate. Their epic fail came long before they added Todd. Now they're trying to dig themselves out of the hole. It's commendable that after 30+ years they're still willing to try to make this work instead of just disbanding.

The QR stock thing just doesn't sound right, but again, at least they're trying.

Hear in the Now Frontier was terrible. The beginning of their decline.

I tried to get through Hear in the Now frontier earlier today, and aside from a few glimmers of hope, that is a rough record overall. The opening track is decent, and maybe one or two more, but the production is so damn dry, it just turns me off to the music oh so fast. For a band that was so focused on slick production, they sure ate did eat a dick on HitNF.

The Warning: Pretty good record, but the production is thin and quiet. I definitely like more of the tunes when compared to HitNF, though. At least the music has some passion on The Warning.

This is a more enjoyable listen to me overall when compared to the EP, Warning, or anything after 1997. American Soldier had a few solid tracks, and the same with Tribe, but they are super uneven records with some real stinkers on them. I don't skip anything on this (admittedly short) record.

That said, when i pick up mu guitar, and feel like jamming some QR, I tend to play stuff off Rage, OMC, or Empire. *shrugs*

Those are still the best.

Yeah its not a great record, and it does mark the beginning of the end for Ryche, but I still prefer it to everything that came after... including this.

HITNF isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Its not great, but its not turrible.

This however, is better than anything since Promised Land to me.

True indeed but lets face it, at least 'QUEENSRYCHE' played to sold out arenas. The scab version will play to sold out clubs if they're lucky.

'Hear in the Now Frontier was terrible.'

Agreed again but it's still better than this, sadly. I don't think you realize how massive Queensryche really was Willie.

Ha ha. I like what I like.

Who cares? At least they're still trying. If they were only in it for the money, they would have definitely quit (if their decline is as serious as you're making it out to be). There are a lot of really good bands that use to play bigger venues than they do now. Some have original members, some are almost unrecognizable.

--Agreed again but it's still better than this, sadly. I don't think you realize how massive Queensryche really was Willie.--

I just don't care about how massive they were or how far they've fallen or whether their legacy is in decline or getting better.... I care about how good the music is and this is the best they've done since Promised Land.

Right on, and this pile of rubble (Queensryche starring Todd LaTorre and Parker Lundgren) is better than:

1. Warning

2. En Force

3. Deliverance

4. No Sanctuary

5. N M 156

6. Take Hold of the Flame

7. Before the Storm

8. Child of Fire

9. Roads to Madness

1. Queen Of The Reich

2. Nightrider

3. Blinded

4. The Lady Wore Black

5. Prophecy

And my comparisons above were simply stating what the Queensryche brand accomplished. Now we have amateurs riding on those coattails and you like it better than some of the classics! I don't mean to break balls Willie but I just cant grasp that concept man.
