This is one of those albums that makes life worth living. When I listen to this album...you wonder why you ever listen to anything else.

I don't understand what's so hard about getting into this album. I mean it's obviously not the most accessible music in the world but before I listened to it my friends gave me the impression that it was just reeeaaaaallllyyy weird and crazy, so I expected that and found a very docile, beautiful album (with some quirks, of course). Granted, Jane Doe clicked pretty quick for me, too, so idk....

to be fair to Maniac, I absolutely despised this album when it came out. I was a big fan of the Bends and Computer, for some reason this took a long fucking time to click. It has now, but it took years.

Jane Doe is another monster entirely. It only took a few listens to click for that one. Kid A, to me, feels like a whole lot of concept, but no climax or point. No destination to the atmosphere. At the end I am left thinking, what was the whole point of this? Perhaps I just don't get it. I like the idea of the album, and it has some neat moments, but ultimately it leaves me wanting something that brings the whole album to a unified destination.

Like not to sound like a fanboy but I have a really hard time understanding how this is not everyone's favourite album. Like it just seems objectively better than everything else, well I like Amnesiac more but they are two peas in a pod.

I think the main factor is that I just got into Radiohead a few months ago; I kind of just got all of their music at once and I already knew what to expect from each album because I had read up on reviews here and such. I can imagine that Kid A was MUCH more challenging to get into when it was actually released haha I just knew going into it that it was their techno, off the wall album.

Just listen to Idiotechque and Optimistic and The National Anthem and How To Dissapear Completely and Everything In Its Right Place over and over again and ignore the rest.
